About the Conference

Hosted by Dr. B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar, ICSEMT 2027 establishes a premier global stage for experts to pioneer advancements in sustainable energy, novel materials, and thermal-fluid techniques. The conference is dedicated to bridging the gap between fundamental physics, advanced simulation, and experimental application to accelerate decarbonization efforts. Through collaborative technical sessions and visionary keynotes, attendees will contribute to shaping a resilient, sustainable future. High-impact research will be selected for publication in reputable peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings.

Dr B R Ambedkar NIT Jalandhar

Institute is named after Bharat Ratna Dr B R Ambedkar, founder of Indian Constitution. The institute came into existence in the year 1988 as Regional Engineering College on a beautiful campus of about 154 acres close to the heart of Jalandhar city. The institute obtained the status "Institute of National Importance" by Act of Parliament in 2007. The institute is located on the G.T. Road Amritsar bye-pass. The institute was ranked 55th in NIRF rankings 2025.

Department of Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 1990 and has grown as one of the dynamic departments of the Institute over the last three decades. The Department offers B.Tech, M.Tech (Design & Thermal) and PhD programmes. The B.Tech program is accredited by NBA. It promotes research in diverse areas like fluid mechanics, heat transfer, materials, and sustainable energy solutions.

Call for Papers

The Organizing Committee invites researchers, scholars, and industry experts to submit original research papers, review articles, and case studies for ICSEMT 2027. Hosted by the Department of Mechanical Engineering at NIT Jalandhar, we seek innovative contributions in sustainable energy, advanced materials, and green technologies. All submissions will undergo a rigorous peer-review process.

Experts are invited to submit original work in sustainable energy systems, thermal-fluid sciences, clean power generation, and advanced materials & manufacturing.

Conference Tracks

Track 1: Thermal-Fluid Techniques for Sustainable Energy Systems

(Focus: Physics, Simulation & Experimental Methods applied to Energy)

  • Advanced Heat Transfer for Energy Applications: Heat transfer mechanisms in solar collectors, Geothermal systems, Nuclear reactors, & Waste heat recovery.
  • Multiphase & Micro-Scale Transport: Boiling/condensation in power cycles, Micro-channel cooling for batteries/electronics, Two-phase flows & Nanofluids for solar thermal systems.
  • Thermal Management of Energy Systems: Battery Cooling (BTMS), Fuel cells, Power electronics; Heat exchangers for ORC, refrigeration systems & EV thermal systems.
  • Computational Techniques: CFD, Lattice Boltzmann; AI/ML algorithms for energy system optimization & Reduced-order modeling.
  • Experimental Techniques: Advanced measurement methods (PIV, IR thermography) for energy devices, & Transient testing of thermal storage.

Track 2: Sustainable Energy Systems & Technologies

(Focus: System-Level Integration, Power Cycles & Decarbonization)

  • Renewable Energy Systems: Solar thermal power plants, PV-thermal hybrids, Wind-solar integration, Ocean energy & Geothermal plants.
  • Energy Storage Integration: System-level design of Thermal Storage, Battery packs, & Mechanical storage (CAES/Pumped Hydro) & Hydrogen storage.
  • Power Cycles & Conversion: Cogeneration, Poly-generation, Organic Rankine Cycles (ORC), Waste heat recovery & Thermoelectric generators.
  • Building & Industrial Efficiency: HVAC system design, Heat pump systems, District heating/cooling, Pinch analysis, & Net-zero energy buildings.
  • Decarbonization & Policy: Carbon Capture (CCUS) integration, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Exergy analysis, & Energy economics.

Track 3: Combustion, Fuels & Advanced Engines

(Focus: Combustion Science, Alternative Fuels & Clean Power Generation)

  • Combustion Fundamentals: Flame dynamics, Ignition/extinction kinetics, Turbulent combustion, & Spray atomization.
  • Alternative Fuels: Hydrogen, Ammonia, Syngas, Biodiesel, Bio-alcohols, Fuel blends & Synthetic fuel characterization.
  • IC Engines & Gas Turbines: Combustion chamber design, Fuel injection, In-cylinder processes, Gas turbine combustors.
  • Advanced Combustion Strategies: Low-Temperature Combustion (LTC), HCCI, RCCI, Lean Burn & Oxy-combustion.
  • Emissions Control: Soot/NOx formation mechanisms, Particulate Matter (PM) reduction, Emission diagnostics & After-treatment technologies (SCR, DPF).

Track 4: Advanced Materials, Manufacturing & Sustainability

(Focus: Materials for Energy, Clean Tech & Sustainable Manufacturing)

  • Energy Storage Materials: Advanced electrodes for Batteries/Supercapacitors, Solid-state electrolytes, Fuel Cell Membranes, Thermoelectric materials & Material degradation.
  • Thermal Materials: Phase Change Materials (PCM) synthesis, Nanofluids & property characterization, Heat transfer enhancement materials, Hydrophobic/superhydrophobic surfaces.
  • High-Temperature & Coating Materials: Thermal Barrier Coatings (TBCs), Refractory materials, Oxidation-resistant alloys, High-temperature ceramics, Catalytic materials for hydrogen/fuel Cells.
  • Sustainable Materials: Bio-composites, Biodegradable polymers, Green synthesis, Recycled materials for automotive & Energy applications, Waste valorization & LCA.

By Air

Nearest airport is Amritsar (ATQ), ~95 km away. Taxis and buses are readily available from the airport to Jalandhar.

By Train

Jalandhar City (JUC) is 12 km from campus, and Jalandhar Cantt (JRC) is 18 km away. Both stations have good connectivity.

By Road

The institute is on G.T. Road, Amritsar bypass, ~15 km from Jalandhar Bus Stand, with frequent bus and taxi services.
