Industrial and Production Engineering is emerging as a specialized branch of Mechanical Engineering with an objective of enabling engineers to improve efficiency and effectiveness of both manufacturing and service sector Industries. A strong emphasis is laid on designing of such systems of Man-Machine symbiosis, which facilitate optimum utilization of scarce resources. It is concerned with the design of Man-Machine System that attempts to optimize the resources, which are becoming increasingly scarce.
I extend my heartiest congratulations to the students, faculty, research scholars and alumni of Industrial and Production Department. I would also like to use this opportunity to appreciate the dedication and perseverance put in by the development team for this excellent website. I am hopeful that it shall promote research activities, consultancy projects, placements, trainings and ease the exchange of information thus amplifying the growth of the department.
