The Constitution and Rules of the Club ''We Can''

A) Title: ''We Can''

B) Aims and Objectives:

To develop intrapersonal and interpersonal skills.
To promote an in-depth understanding of soft skills and English language that lies beyond the ken of the syllabus.
To provide a platform to students for mutual exchange of ideas, knowledge and skills through ingenious and captivating monthly group activities such as group discussion, debate, quiz, documentary review, movie review, and role play.
To encourage the students to display their extra-curricular skills that would promote a healthy holistic development of the student.
To arrange competitions like elocution contest, essay writing, book review giving them an opportunity for self-expression.
To incorporate speech delivery enhancement activities.
To instill in the minds of the students the spirit of self-help, service sacrifice and cooperation.
To collaborate with other departments for extra and co-curricular activities related to language and soft skills.

C) Committee: The committee of the club consists of the following:

Patron	Prof. Rajiv Kumar Garg, Director (I/C), NITJ
Faculty Coordinator:	Dr. Sonia Chawla, Head Training Cell
Faculty Coordinator:	Dr. Shyamkiran Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Humanities and Management
Officers of the Club:	President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Marketing Head, Publicity Head and four Core Members.

D) Officers of the Club:

The Officers of the club shall consist of the following: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Marketing Head, Publicity Head and four Core Members.
The Officers shall be appointed by the faculty coordinators for a period of six months on the basis of interview.
Membership shall be confined to students/alumni of NITJ.
All Officers shall be eligible for re-appointment.
The club may appoint other Officers from time to time and under such terms as it considers appropriate.
The club officers shall be required to actively participate in all Club activities.
The club officers shall have to conduct monthly events for the enhancement of soft skills of NITJ students.

Meetings:

The Committee shall meet at such times as shall be decided from time to time by the faculty coordinators thereof but no less than two meetings shall be held in any one month.

E) Disciplinary Procedure:

The Disciplinary Board consists of faculty coordinators shall have the power to hear and determine any complaints against the club officers whether made by a Member of the Club or any student of NITJ.
Any Member/Club Officer found to be in breach of these rules or held to have behaved in a manner damaging to the interests of the Club shall be admonished, suspended, fined, expelled or be the subject of such other penalty as the Club considers fit.

F) Amendment of Constitution:

Only the Patron or Faculty Coordinators will have power to alter or amend this Constitution and Rules.
